Hurray the time has come ...the Monthly Photo contest is starting from 1st January 2013.....here are the details!!
As we had promised that we are going to introduce some interesting
events for the members, here is the announcement...................Hurray.....time
to get ready and participate in the monthly photo contest that is
starting from January 2013 in the New Year for all the members of
Shutter Bugs - Our Photography.
Kindly read below for all the details and information about the Photo Contest.
The monthly photo contest will run EVERY month from the first day to
the last day of the month (or when 50 entries have been received;
whichever comes first). This means entries are limited to 50 images...
if you add your image after 50 entries have been received, it will not
be accepted as a nomination. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be
awarded (awards will not be in commodities/goods/cash etc.). The winning
pictures will be featured in the blog front page.
All contestants will be notified in the Facebook “Shutter Bugs – Our Photography” site page and in this blog page.
Here are the rules:
1. The nomination (submission of photo) period is from the first day to
the last day of every month till 12:00 midnight IST (or when 50 entries
have been received, whichever comes first). Images entered after 50
entries will not be accepted.
2. Please limit your submissions to
ONE of your pictures per contest. If you enter more than one image,
only the first photo submitted will be accepted as a nomination.
3. All nominated/submitted photos must be of good quality.
4.
5. Voting begins on the first day of the following month (or when 50
entries have been received, whichever comes first) and will run for 1
week.
6. All members are allowed to vote. (Don't vote on your own image.)
7. NOTE: If you have entered the contest, you MUST vote or your entry
will not win, even if your photo is voted as one of the top three
entries.
How to post photos?
Request all the members who want to participate and post photos for the contest to please click the below link
after the page opens click "Sign in" in the right hand corner of the page and sign in with
USERNAME: shutterbugs_ourphotography
PASSWORD: photo2012
you will be taken to the page
then in this page click the below links highlighted in red
Monthly Photo Contest under the Discussion menu and then to upload your photos just click the UPLOAD tab on the top right corner of the page and just drag your photo on the page with black background and click the upload 1 photo button again in this page in the top right hand corner...your photos will be uploaded. Before clicking the Upload 1 photo button please click the ADD A DESCRIPTION button at the left side of the page to enter your name...this is mandatory.
Each member can post only one photo for the contest per month and first 50 entries will be accepted for a particular month. | | |

Voting Procedure:
1. Any member of the site can participate in voting for the month’s contest.
2. Any member who has participated in the contest or whose photo is in that month’s contest must vote.
3. Each member will have to vote for three photos ranking them as 1, 2,
and 3. For example within the 50 photos submitted if any member likes
photo number #12, #6, and #30 and he votes #12 as 1, #6 as 2 and #30 as
3, which means he has awarded first place to #12, second place to #6 and
third place to #30.
4. Point allotted for Rank 1 = 3 points, 2= 2 points and 3 = 1 point
5. The photo with the highest point will win the monthly contest.
6. All submission of photos and voting will be conducted in our photo
contest group site created in flickr.com. We will post the link in our
next notification.
7. In case of a tie in results the winners will be jointly awarded.

then in this page click the below links highlighted in red:
Monthly Photo Contest under the Discussion menu and you will see in this page all the nominated/submitted photos are lined up one after the other numbered from 1 to 50 (or as many photos received with the maximum of 50) ...then go to the bottom of the page and you will see a box "REPLY TO THIS TOPIC" in the box just vote for the photos you like as shown here:
write your name in the box then press enter and under that give the vote for the photos you like.
